Every gram counts: Smart weighing controllers ensure precise filling

Precision and repeat accuracy, functionality and flexibility, user-friendliness and availability – all these features are combined in the latest generation of weighing controllers from B+L Industrial Measurements. Both the miniPond 3F and the dataPond 3F are based on many years of know-how in weighing and dosing technology and, thanks to the fieldbus interface and the integrated web server, offer maximum ease of integration up to Industry 4.0.

Precise filling – ideally accurate to the gram – to avoid complaints due to underfilled packs and material giveaway due to overfilling, as well as end-of-line checking are the classic areas of application for weighing controllers in packaging processes for solid and liquid products. In addition to the actual task of weighing and the monitoring and control functions derived from it, users place special demands not only on the robustness and availability of the systems, but also on their communication capabilities.

Both weighing controllers of B+L’s latest generation are based on the wealth of experience that our company has gathered with its predecessor versions – for example the SWA2000 – in the field of dynamic bulk solids weighing, since it was founded in 1968. The packaging machine above has two integrated dosing scales. Each of them is equipped with a dataPond 3F weighing controller. They are used to fill a wide variety of granular products such as animal feed, foodstuffs, pellets or pebbles at very high throughput rates.

High-performance weighing controller with added value – specifically for fast filling processes

It enables consistently accurate filling results even in high-speed machines at cycle rates of over 2,000 fills per hour. With its wide range of integrated functions and setting options, it can be optimally adapted to the given task.
Commissioning, parameterization, remote access and remote maintenance can also be carried out via a network using the integrated web server or fieldbus.

The EC-approved and verifiable weighing electronics of the dataPond 3F controls and monitors the complete dosing process and can be quickly switched over to other filling weights or products via 220 stored presettings. Not one gram too much and not one gram too little: dataPond 3F delivers highly precise filling results thanks to its proven digital filter technology and various automatic closed-loop controls, even with vibrations at the scales or products with different material densities.
